This is an introductory workshop in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is open to anyone interested in learning the fundamentals of TCM, acupuncture and herbal medicine with a focus on single herbs and herbal formulas used in TCM. Topics of discussion will include: A brief history of Chinese medicine and how it traveled to western countries, Introduction to the fundamentals of TCM, such as yin and yang, qi, elemental, and meridian theory, Introduction to pulse and tongue diagnosis, Introduction to techniques used for treatment, such as cupping, acupuncture, and herbal medicine, & Common single herbs and formulas used in the Chinese herbal apothecary.
