Beyond the Veil

This evening gathering is a culmination of magic, symbol, and ceremony, where the key focus is drawing our attention into deeper presence through ritual tea service, followed by an intuitive exploration “beyond the veil” of the conscious mind into the shadowy waters of the subconscious. Gong Fu tea ceremony has been practiced in China for over 1,000 years and serves both as a mindfulness practice as well as a communion with the tea plant and its natural medicinal properties. In addition to tea service, tarot guidance will be offered to all participants and each person’s Card of the Year will be calculated and discussed, creating a spiritual roadmap for the remainder of the year. 

All are welcome. No prior experience needed. Non-caffeinated options available. Bring decks if you have them.

About the facilitators Ashey Campos and Misha Howard:

Ashley, an herbalist rooted deep in the earth, a witch whispering with the green, and a tarot reader whose gaze has danced with the cards for fourteen years, is the director of the Berkeley Herbal Center, a community hub of plant wisdom and healing in Berkeley, CA. For “Beyond the Veil,” she joins hands with her dearest friend, Misha, to weave a tapestry of fragrant gong fu tea and the silent stories of the tarot’s arcana.

Misha’s love affair with gong fu tea ignited in 2015 within the serene embrace of Hidden Peak Teahouse, in Santa Cruz, CA. Ever since, her travels have been scented with the earthy notes of puerh; her constant companions: clay teapot and tiny cup–a ritual embraced across a decade of her global pilgrimages. Throughout her journeys, she intensely devoted herself to the inner landscape of meditation, which has found its perfect echo in the tranquil ceremony of tea.
